Won't Save File
Posted By admin On 26.02.20How can I save the file before the disconnection if I don't know when there will be a disconnect? Also, the possibility of the computer going to sleep is not an potential cause because I am currently working on the document. Same taskpaneid for different actions does not work on office for mac pro. This error has been happening with all of my users whether they are working on site or remotely. Our common condition is that we are saving to our box.com server. We use Box Edit and work on Adobe InDesign files.

We have Box Sync to keep our image assets synced locally so that we don't end up with errors in InDesign that images are 'missing' because the program can't follow the path to where the actual image files reside (which is on the Box server). The number of times we receive this error message has increased significantly over the past two weeks. We've had our IT team evaluate the internet logs and there is no traffic issue that is contributing to lost connections. I am having the same issue. So far I could not find any resolution. The error message pops up on start up, once the connection is established. I have changed the filename directly on Box.
Since then it happens. The exact error message reads: 'Unable to save. An error occured while saving to Box. A copy has been saved to your desktop.
Please save changes to your document using 'Save As.' To avoid losing any working changes.' As multiple users are experiencing this error, can someone in the Box technical support team looking into this and provide a fix?
Hi and, Thanks for your post and welcome to the Community. This seems like an old thread, but thanks for letting us know that you are experiencing a similar issue. Check out and let us know if that helped your issue - or if not, post some more detail here so the community can assist!
Your posts also seem to require specifc account information and may vary for each of you. I would recommend that both of you should to help you directly, or for other support options,. Appreciate your time and thanks for time in the community! Try going into this directory and deleting the temp files. It worked for me. I was on Windows 7. I jus deleted all directorys that looked like they were temp with long strings in the names of random letters numbers.
All good finally. Where does Box Edit store edited files? Windows Win 7/Vista:%LocalAppData% Box Box Edit Documents Win XP:%APPDATA% Box Box Edit Documents This would look like: Win 7: C: Users username AppData Local Box Box Edit Documents Win XP: C: Documents and Settings username Application Data Box Box Edit Documents Mac /Library/Application Support/Box/Box Edit/Documents/.
File Won T Save In Excel
Dan is correct. This error message usually means you don’t have write permission for the destination folder. But that raises a more important question: why are you trying to save to a folder where you don’t have permission? Most often this means you are trying to write somewhere that requires admin privileges (e.g. MacIntosh HD or the Application’s folder), and you should not be doing that! Save your files either somewhere within your own Documents folder or, if you need to share, in a writeable-by-all shared folder. If you are trying to save to a networked share, there is a problem with the setup of that destination.

Ok, back in SU can you open any model and the File Export 2D Graphic to you Desktop? Another test can be done from SU menu Windows Ruby Console with an unsaved new model, open Ruby Console by clicking it, then copy/paste the next block of code into the bottom section model = Sketchup.activemodel # Save the model using the current SketchUp format filename = File.join(ENV'HOME', 'Desktop', 'xxxsketchup.skp') status = model.save(filename) and press the Return/Enter key ‘RC’ should then say true or false on the last line of the top section john.
