Setting Print Options In Word For Mac
Posted By admin On 25.02.20I seem to have to change the Print settings for each of my documents, i.e., when I am in Word and I click on Print.and then Paper Handling and Page Order.it is set as automatic and I can't seem to set it as 'normal'. Same with Layout.my settings are set at Two Sided.Long Edge Binding and I want it to be 'off' permanently. You can't seem to do that in Word for Mac whereas when I used Word for Windows I could set my settings as I liked and 'apply' to save them to use for all subsequent docs. Does anyone else find this a hassle, and/or have you found how to set your preferred settings as 'defaults' etc? Sorry for the miscue. There was supposed to be a link to this.
I'm not sure why it broke:- I've tried it again just to see if it works. As for deleting Presets: Any you create yourself can be deleted without a problem. The system defaults (Standard & Last Used) cannot be deleted - If you choose one of them the Save, Rename & Delete choices in the menu will be inactive. And your inference is correct.
Deleting a preset simply eliminates the availability of that preset, itself. It doesn't prevent access to any of the actual settings that may have been specified in it. My guess is that the others you mention are supplied by the HP driver. If the Delete option is active when one is selected I expect that it can be deleted safely. I don't see why deleting any of them would hurt anything but I'd suggest that you check with HP Support before doing so. I'm not sure I understand your last question unless you're going into the Show Presets dialog which my version of OS X doesn't have. You cannot modify the settings specified in any of the listed presets while there, although you can Rename or Duplicate them.

You have to select the Preset as though you intended to use it, change any allowable settings, then either Save to modify the current Preset or use Save As to create a new Preset based on the settings in place at the time.
