I'm looking for an ePub reader app that does the following: -allows side-loading/unloading of files -can sync between iOs/OS X, preferably through Dropbox, but I'm not too picky on this point, as long as I can leave off on one device, and pick up on another -allows basic ebook formatting, such as font and font size, background and text colours -provides decent library management features, such as sorting and metadata editing I've got Marvin for iOS, but there is no desktop app to which I can sync. Apparently in the past, it would sync to Calibre, but it no longer allows for that. Furthermore, Calibre is a horrible e-reader (clunky, bloated, unintuitive). I like iBooks well enough as a reader on both platforms, but it butchers the.epub files, and ensures you can't extract them once you've added them to your library. I've had the library get borked before, and lost access to my books, despite them still being on the hard drive. I'm not doing that again. I haven't played around with the Kindle app in ages, but I don't think it allows for loading and transferring and syncing of drm-free.epubs.

Is there some version of iBooks that doesn't destroy your.epubs for fun and profit? Is there a desktop companion app to Marvin? Is there an ebook reader for OS X that isn't some way or another awful?
